Printmaking

I practice non-toxic printmaking and without this recent technological development I would not be able to work in this medium.

Printmaking is a completely different discipline to watercolour. It is not spontaneous, but calculated and deliberate. It takes time to develop a plate and run a series. In intaglio or etching, enough time elapses to allow an artist’s unconscious to squeeze in and assert itself, which I enjoy.

As an adjunct to painting, printmaking allows for the development of ideas in the studio in the winter. I find printmaking suits my need to slow down and feeds my graphic and linear inner artist.
