Collage has been a powerful and fun way to break down and build up values and colour nuance.

I usually engage in the process when I am completely in love with an image and can’t get enough of it. But sometimes I use collage to shake up my process, which needs light when I am in the dark. This revitalizes both the image and me.

I am not in love with the process that is finicky and sticky. But I love the result. And because it takes so long to acquire the image, serendipity pushes and pulls me along a discovery path…artistic heaven if I am in a meditative mood.
